HOBOKEN, N.J. (October 13, 2007) – Senior back/midfielder Cristina Fulgencio registered the eventual game-winning goal in the second-minute of play on Saturday afternoon at the De Baun Athletic Complex as the Stevens Institute of Technology women's soccer team blanked conference rival Nazareth College by a final score of 1-0. With the victory, the Ducks extend their unbeaten streak at home to 36 consecutive games, which date back to a 1-0 win against Manhattanville College on October 23, 2004. The stretch is currently the longest run in the nation and ranks sixth in NCAA history.

In the play, freshman back/forward Katria Misilo found Fulgencio at the hash line of the penalty box. Then, Fulgencio ripped a shot from 10 yards out into the right corner of the net to score the only marker of the contest.

Stevens' (10-3-1, 5-1 Empire 8) freshman goaltender Jenn Pontier notched her fifth shutout in as many starts while making two saves. Nazareth (9-4, 4-1 Empire 8) freshman goalkeeper Hillary Simon (Homer, N.Y.) turned two shots aside as well.

Head Coach Jeff Parker and the Ducks return to action this Wednesday when they host the third-ranked Lions of The College of New Jersey in non-conference play. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
