GLASSBORO, N.J. (October 27, 2010) – The Stevens Institute of Technology field hockey team dropped a 5-0 decision to No. 18 Rowan University on a wet Wednesday night in Glassboro, N.J. Senior Lauren Ross (Gloucester City, N.J.) scored three goals for the Profs who improve to 12-5 overall. The Ducks drop to 8-9 overall heading into their regular season finale on Saturday night versus Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Stevens' senior goalkeeper Ellyn Griggs played a strong game in net despite taking the loss. The captain made 19 stops and kept Rowan off the board until the 61st minute.

After a scoreless first, midfielder Ashley Adams' (Erial, N.J.) unassisted goal at 60:22 gave Rowan a 1-0 lead. Just over a minute later, Rachael Dix (Egg Harbor Township, N.J.) scored on a penalty corner with a feed from Julie Cairone (Medford, N.J.). At 67:01, Adams fired a shot from the right side and Ross knocked it in for the goal, and Ross tallied again on a pass from Cairone with 1:42 remaining.
Sophomore Samantha Weisman had a defensive save for the Ducks.
