HOBOKEN, N.J. (November 10, 2010) – The Stevens Institute of Technology wrestling team, ranked 18th in the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Brute-Adidas Preseason Poll, dropped its home opener to visiting No. 12 The College of New Jersey, 30-9 at Walker Gymnasium in Hoboken, N.J. Sophomore Brian Schmalz  and freshman CJ Caserta earned points for the Ducks, who return to action on Saturday, November 12 at the John Reece Duals.

TCNJ senior Dan Hughes (Delran, N.J.) got things started for the Lions with a 6-2 decision over Stevens' freshman Brandon Ling at 125 lbs. Sophomore Dan Herr (Rockaway, N.J.) then put TCNJ up six with a 7-3 decision over Ducks' freshman Andrew Boehm in the 133-lb. weight class.

After the Lions' Brian Bollette (Newton, N.J.) made it 9-0 in favor of TCNJ with a 7-0 decision over Stevens freshman Mike DiLiello at 141 lbs. Caserta put the Ducks on the board with a hard-fought 7-6 decision over senior John Barnett (Oak Ridge, N.J.).
