Women's Fencing Goes 2-1 at New Jersey Duals

PRINCETON, N.J. (February 7, 2010) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's fencing team defeated two out of three Division I opponents Sunday at the New Jersey Dual Meet at Princeton University. The Ducks defeated Fairleigh Dickenson and New Jersey Institute of Technology by double digits, but fell to the powerful host team. Freshman epeeist Krystal Perkins went 7-1 on the day, including a 3-0 mark against the Tigers.

Freshman Briana Nieradka also posted a solid record with the epee at 5-4.

At foil, captin Danielle Bisson had a great day as well, going 6-3. In addition, sophomores Alexis Clyburn and Alexandra Lyons both posted 4-3 records.

At sabre, freshman Juliet Turalski continued her breakout season, going 7-2 on the day.

The Ducks are now 19-3 on the year, with their only three losses coming to Division I programs.

After a week off, the team will return to action at home on February 20 against Queens College at 11 a.m.
