ITHACA, N.Y. (September 30, 2012) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's tennis (5-3, 3-2) team ran into undefeated Ithaca College (7-0, 6-0) on Sunday and came out on the short end of a 7-2 decision. Junior Lisa Tessitore (Dobbs ferry, N.Y.) and sophomore Danielle Stewart (North Plainfield, N.J.) earned the Ducks' two victories at second and fourth singles, respectively.
 
When the day started with doubles, the Ducks nearly came out ahead at both ones and twos. Tessitore and Jessica Bourque (Houma, La.) took it all the way to a tiebreaker at first doubles (9-8 [7-1]) and Stewart and Julia Guignard (Lowville, N.Y.) were also tight at twos (9-7).
 
Stevens will be back in action at home on Wednesday when the team hosts Ramapo College at 3:30 p.m. in the final non-conference matchup of the season.
