HOBOKEN, N.J. (December 4, 2012) – Stevens Institute of Technology senior All-American Joey Favia (Brick, N.J.) of the wrestling team was named d3wrestle.com/WWSport.com Wrestler of the Week for his performances leading up to Thanksgiving Break.

The No.5 grappler at 165-lbs. in the nation, Favia earned a 3-2 decision victory over fellow All-America John Darling from The College on New Jersey in the Ducks' lone home meet so far this season on November 14. Favia also won both invitationals (Roger Williams and Doug Parker) that Stevens participated in on November 10 and 17, respectively.

Before a trip to the Midwest to take on Division I institutions, Northwestern University and Duke University, the senior held a perfect 10-0 mark before suffering his first setback to nationaly-ranked No. 12 Pierce Harger of the Wildcats. Favia bounced back to earn a 7-3 decision against Randy Rohen from Duke which gave the Ducks a 15-13 lead in the dual, but the Blue Devils would go on to win the match, 33-15.

He is now 11-1 this season with two major decision victories.

Stevens travels across the Hudson River this Friday, December 7, to take on Centennial Conference rival New York University at 7 p.m. for the team's final match of the 2012 portion of the season.
