HOBOKEN, N.J. (April 11, 2012) – Freshman Jessica Bourque (Houma, La.) was in on both Stevens Institute of Technology victories as the women's tennis team wrapped up its 2011-12 season with a 7-2 defeat at the hands of The State University of New York at New Paltz on Wednesday. Stevens ends its season as the Empire 8 regular season champions with a 13-6 record.

Bourque won first singles in a rousing 3-6, 6-2, 6-1 victory after teaming with Lisa Tessitore (Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.) to win 8-6 at first doubles for the only Stevens wins of the afternoon.

Danielle Stewart (North Plainfield, N.J.), Tessitore and Alexandra Handel (Sparta, N.J.) each pushed their singles matchups to three sets, however, and Stewart and Mine Bese (Secaucus, N.J.) fell only in a second doubles tiebreaker in a match that was tightly contested.

This marks the final match in the careers of seniors Mine Bese, Nicole Portner and Morgan Scalzi. The rest of the Ducks will look to defend their league title next Fall.
