Box Score ITHACA, N.Y. (April 29, 2012) – The Stevens Institute of Technology baseball team was shutout by Ithaca College on Sunday afternoon at Freeman Field, 14-0, falling to 20-16 overall this season. Stevens' bats were nearly silent for the third time in the series with only five total hits. The Ducks finish their regular season with a three-game series at St. John Fisher College next weekend in Rochester, N.Y.

Graduate student Matt Glassman (Basking Ridge, N.J.) led off the game with a double to right field, but the Ducks were unable to put a run on the board after three consecutive outs. In the bottom half of the first, Ithaca plated two runs after loading the bases with two outs to jump out to an early 2-0 lead.

The Bombers would plate a run in the fifth inning off a sacrifice fly and then blew the game open with 11 runs in the bottom of the sixth. After a hit-and-run put runners on first and third with no outs, Stevens removed junior Tyler Courter (Glenwood, N.J.) from the game and the Bombers capitalized on the Ducks' bullpen.

Courter was dealt the loss in five-plus innings of work. He surrendered 10 hits and six runs with three strikeouts before exiting the contest. Five different relief pitchers toed the mound for the Ducks in the loss.

The Ducks and Cardinals square off for a single game on May 5th at 2 p.m., before wrapping up conference play with a doubleheader on the 6th. The first game of the double dip will begin at 10 a.m.
