HOBOKEN, N.J. (November 8, 2013) – The No. 4/5 Stevens Institute of Technology men's soccer team will host second-seeded Utica College Pioneers in a battle for the Empire 8 title Saturday night at the De Baun Athletic Complex beginning at 5 p.m.

The top-seeded Ducks will be looking for their seventh-straight Empire 8 Championship and berth into the NCAA Tournament. Stevens has won 10-straight conference titles overall (four Skyline, six Empire 8), advancing to the national tournament each year since 2003.

The Ducks come in with an overall mark of 15-1-1 and have won their last 10 matches. Most recently, Stevens rolled to a 5-0 shutout of Nazareth College Wednesday in the semifinals of the conference tournament. The Ducks received three points from senior back Zeke Hemme (Louisville, Ky.) and two assists from sophomore forward Joe Cellitti (Mendham, N.J.). Stevens' backline recorded its 10th shutout of the season as senior goalie Paul Killian (Ellicott City, Md.) earned his 14th victory of the season.

Thursday afternoon, 12 players on the Stevens roster were named to the all-conference teams as the Ducks put seven members on the first team, four on the second team and one being named honorable mention. Sophomore forward Carson Pryor (St. Louis, Mo.) was named the conference's Player of the Year, while Head Men's Soccer Coach Devin Rensing (Hoboken, N.J.) earned his second Doug May Coach of the Year award.

The Ducks and Pioneers met on October 12 in Utica and Stevens earned a 3-0 victory. Pryor scored two first-half goals – the first coming just 66 seconds into the match – and Stevens cruised to its 10th win of the season.

Stevens finished that contest with a 15-5 edge in shots as each team took four corners.

Utica earned a berth in the tournament final with a 2-0 shutout of Ithaca College in the other semifinal Wednesday night. The Pioneers avenged an earlier-season loss to the Bombers with a flawless performance. They have an overall mark of 10-9-0 and a 4-2-0 record in the Empire 8.

Four players earned All-Empire 8 nods in Kevin McAllister (Boxford, Mass.), Chris Perkins (Charlton, Mass.), Greg Silvestro (Sayville, N.Y.) and Jonathon Peterson (Bedford, N.H.).

All of Saturday's action will be webcast live from the De Baun Athletic Complex at www.Empire8.TV beginning at 5 p.m.

Tickets for Saturday's match will be available upon arrival. Tickets are $5 for general admission, $3 for students/seniors with ID and free for all children under 12 years of the age. Stevens students/staff/faculty will be admitted to the game for free.
