HOBOKEN, N.J. (September 14, 2013) – Four players recorded goals and two more added assists as the No. 2 Stevens Institute of Technology men's soccer team cruised to a 4-1 non-conference victory over previously unbeaten and cross-river rival New York University Saturday night in front of a raucous crowd of more than 500 at the De Baun Athletic Complex.

Stevens (4-0-1) came out firing, consistently applying pressure deep in the NYU (5-1-0) zone, and never allowing the Violets to get comfortable.

The Ducks jumped on the board at 26:12 when senior forward Stephen Dunbar (Johns Creek, Ga.) netted his second goal of the season thanks to a precision pass from classmate Curtis Stecyk (Niwot, Colo.). On the play, Stecyk hit Dunbar with a through-ball and Dunbar absolutely drilled his shot in the lower-left corner.

The Ducks continued to dominate the ball and field for the remainder of the half, taking that 1-0 lead into the intermission. After 45 minutes, the Ducks held a 9-1 edge in shots.

Stevens closed the door in the second half, scoring twice in the first 5:43 of the period to open a 3-0 lead. Junior midfielder Matteo Sturla (Hillsborough, N.J.) was twice denied in close on the right post before sticking with it and getting his second goal of the year. Moments later it was sophomore Carson Pryor (St. Louis, Mo.) scoring his team-high fourth of the season on the back of a gorgeous through-ball down the right seam from sophomore midfielder Harrison Kane (Tulsa, Okla.).

In the 67th minute, with the Ducks already up 3-0, junior midfielder Kevin Calloway (Sewell, N.J.) treated the boisterous crowd to the play of the evening, attacking a loose ball and one-timing a missile into the upper-right-90 of the cage. The marker was the first of Calloway's career.

NYU scored in the 79th minute, but it was not nearly enough as the Ducks took home the 4-1 win.

Stevens ended with a 16-4 margin in shots and a 7-2 edge in corners. Senior Paul Killian (Ellicot City, Md.) earned the win in goal and was credited with one save on the night.

The Ducks will return to action Wednesday night at 7 p.m. when they host William Paterson University at the De Baun Athletic Complex.
