ALFRED, N.Y. (September 15, 2013) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's tennis team improved to 5-0 overall and 5-0 in the conference with a 9-0 shutout of Alfred University Sunday. The Ducks have now won 32 of their last 35 individual matches.
After a 9-0 shutout of Fisher less than 24 hours prior, the Ducks matched their effort. Senior
Lisa Tessitore (Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.) and junior
Jessica Bourque (Houma, La.) began to add on to their program-record doubles-win-total with an 8-1 tally at No. 1 against Brianna Ferguson and Rachel Cook. Junior
Danielle Stewart (North Plainfield, N.J.) and junior
Elena Cocineva-Lenge (Chester, N.J.) topped Emily Eisenberg and Alex Smith by the same score. Closing out the doubles action was freshman
Lily Bruenjes (Portland, Maine) and sophomore
Arden Servidio (Nutley, N.J.), making it three-straight by an 8-1 margin.
Bourque, Stewart, Cocineva, freshman
Jillian Morneau (Beverly, Mass.) and Bruenjes all earned straight-set wins, while Tessitore bested Cook 6-3, 2-6, 10-7.

Jillian Morneau really stepped up and are starting to play confident tennis. We've managed to maneuver through a tricky conference schedule to start the season 5-0, and we're exciting to keep it going."
After a 5-4 season-opening win over Nazareth College, the Ducks won 8-0 at Utica College, 6-3 at Hartwick College and 9-0 at both Fisher and Alfred this weekend.
