RESULTS

EWING, N.J. (January
19, 2015) – The No. 7 Stevens Institute of Technology women's swimming team won 12 events Monday en route to a 176-104 dual-match win over the College of New Jersey.
 
The win evened Stevens' dual match record to 2-2 while TCNJ fell to 2-3.
 
Senior Sharon Rooker, senior Brittany Geyer, freshman Sarah Jurczyk, and senior April Lawson took first place in the 200-yard medley relay after posting a time of 1:53.19. Senior Tiffany Chow, junior Elena Piper, senior Maria McClure, and junior Jennifer Rutledge followed close behind with a third place finish of 1:58.19.
 
Sophomore Danielle Caruso took first in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:51.40, while junior Elizabeth Heinbach took third with a time of 11:00.46.
 
Caruso came back with a win in the 200-yard freestyle before Rooker and freshman Sarah Hoogenboom went one-two in the 100 yard backstroke with times of 1:01.02 and 1:01.88 respectively.
 
Geyer picked up her second win of the day with a top finish in the 100-yard breaststroke, followed by a third place finish in the same event by Piper. Heinbach and McClure also went one-two in the 200-yard butterfly with times of 2:13.79 and 2:17.22 respectively.
 
In the 50-yard freestyle, Lawson finished second after posting a 25:53 for Stevens' only top-three finish in that event, before taking first in the 100-yard freestyle.
 
The Ducks took all three top spots in the 200-yard backstroke off a first place finish from Hoogenboom, a second place finish from Hendershot, and a third place finished for McClure.
 
Geyer won for the third time on the afternoon after a 2:29.05 performance in the 200-yard breaststroke with Prescott taking third after a 2:39.39. In the 500-yard freestyle, Caruso took first after a 5:18.41 to go along with a third place finish from Heinbach in the same event.
 
Stevens took all three top spots for the second time on the day in the 100-yard butterfly before Geyer won in the 200-yard individual medley.
 
Stevens concluded its day with a second and third place finish for two of the 400-yard freestyle relay teams.
 
The Ducks will return to the pool on Jan. 31 when they travel to Hartwick College for their final dual match of the season.
