Men’s Soccer Returns Home Wednesday

HOBOKEN, N.J. (October 13, 2015) – After a two-match road swing, the Stevens Institute of Technology men's soccer team (9-1-2) will return to Hoboken Wednesday for a matchup with the United States Merchant Marine Academy.

Match time is set for 7 p.m. at the De Baun Athletic Complex in Hoboken.

LAST TIME OUT
Led by goals from senior Carson Pryor and junior Patrick Masur, the Ducks picked-up a crucial 2-1 Empire 8 Conference win over Alfred University Saturday. 

SCOUTING REPORT
Merchant Marine brings an 8-4-1 record into Hoboken, and is unbeaten in four of its last six matches. Gavin Yingling leads the Marines with 10 goals and 22 points, while Cory Maier has 39 saves and two shutouts in net.

RIVALRY RENEWED
The Ducks are unbeaten in their last five matches against USMMA, including a 3-2, double-overtime road-win last season. 

HOME COOKIN'
Stevens is unbeaten in its last six matches in Hoboken this season, outscoring opponents 15-2 in the process. Additionally, the Ducks are unbeaten in 15 consecutive home matches dating back to last season.

DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS
Led by senior Harrison Kane and sophomores Patrick Boylan and Tommy Dorsay, the Stevens defense has allowed just three goals during its current nine-match unbeaten streak. 

PRYOR PROWESS
Pryor leads the Ducks with 11 goals and 22 points this season, good for second and third in the E8 respectively. Stevens is 7-0-0 in matches in which Pryor has scored.  

PHILLING THE STAT SHEET
Senior Colin Phillips sits second on the team with 16 points off six goals and four assists, and his three game-winning goals are tops in the E8.

RENNA REPORT
Junior Mike Renna leads the E8 with five shutouts, and sits second with a .732 goals against average. Entering play on Wednesday, Renna sits six saves shy of 100 for his career.
