Brook Ties Milestone In Field Hockey Loss

ONEONTA, N.Y. (October 3, 2015) – Stevens Institute of Technology field hockey senior Dailyn Brook tied the program's all-time scoring mark Saturday in the Ducks 3-1 loss to Hartwick College.

The loss moved Stevens to 7-4 (2-2), while Hartwick rose to 3-6 (1-3).

The goal was the 53rd of Brook's career, tying her with Marguerite Chavez. As a team, the Ducks outshot Hartwick 22-11 while tallying 13 more penalty corners. Junior Emily Stukenborg made five saves in goal.

The Ducks controlled the tempo early on with an offensive run that include a pair of penalty corners and shots over the first 10 minutes. Hartwick answered with some pressure of its own, however Stevens held off the charge to set up the go-ahead goal.

Off a cross in front of the cage from freshman Regan Littell, Brook finished with the one-timer for the score. The goal was Brook's team-leading eighth of the season, while the assist was Littell's first.

The lead held through the rest of the first half and into the second until Hartwick connected with the equalizer in the 47th minute. The Ducks responded with a barrage of shots over the next eight minutes, however saves were made on all three shots.

Hartwick padded its lead in the 57th minute, then again in the 65th to put the Ducks in a hole they wouldn't be able to recover from.

The Ducks will be back in action Wednesday when they travel to SUNY-New Paltz for a 4 p.m. game.
