RESULTS
GLASSBORO, N.J. (OCTOBER 31, 2015) – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's swimming team downed Rowan University 139-123 in their first meet of the year Saturday.
The Ducks moved to 1-0 on the season, while Rowan dropped to 0-1.
Stevens started the afternoon off with a win the 200-IM relay, as the team of seniors
Ravi Sun,
Joshua Lefeber and
Tomasz Wolinski, and junior
Austen Young claimed the victory. In the 1,000-yard freestyle, the Ducks claimed the top four spots, led by junior
Mark Lippert, who took first place with a time of 9:56.69. Freshman
Sam Fuller, junior Conner Arnott and sophomore
Connor Harrigan rounded out the scoring quartet.
Wolinski took home first in the 200-free with a mark of 1:44.1, while Sun and sophomore
Ethan Gehenio claimed the top two spots in the 100-yard backstroke. The Ducks grabbed spots two through five in the 200-fly, led by freshman
Vincent Tavoletti.
Sun and Gehenio repeated as the top two in the 200-backstroke, with Sun winning by over five seconds. The Ducks put four in the scoring in the 500-freestyle, as Harrigan, Lippert, sophomore
James Betz and Arnott all grabbed spots. Sun registered his third victory of the afternoon, tallying a first place time of 1:57.35 in the 200-yard IM.
Stevens will be back in action next Saturday, traveling to New York for a tri-meet against New York University and SUNY-New Paltz.
