Men's Tennis Picks Up Pair Of 9-0 E8 Wins

HOBOKEN, N.J. (April 11, 2015) – The No. 24 Stevens Institute of Technology men's tennis team remained unbeaten in the Empire 8 Conference Saturday with a pair of 9-0 wins over Nazareth College and St. John Fisher College.
 
The wins moved Stevens to (10-5, 4-0) while Naz and Fisher fell to 2-11 and 6-6 respectively.
 
Stevens 9, Nazareth 0
 
Sophomore Michael Feldman and freshman Kyle Henry teamed for an 8-2 win at first doubles while sophomore Antonio Perich and junior Tyler Tisdale took home an 8-2 win at No. 2. Junior Jacob Thigpen and freshman William Persson also did their part in the sweep with an 8-3 win at No. 3.
 
Feldman went 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 while Shulz picked-up the 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 2. Persson added another win to his season with a straight set win at No. 3, and Perich knocked off his opponent at No. 4, 6-1, 6-0.
 
Veterans Thigpen and Tisdale won at No. 5 and No. 6 respectively to complete the singles sweep.

The Ducks went with unique doubles lineups which resulted in a trio of wins. Sophomore Charles Drake and freshman Danny Polk won 8-3 at No. 1 while sophomore Antonio Perich and junior Tyler Tisdale won handily, 8-0 at No. 2.
 
Junior Jacob Thigpen and freshman David Schulz also did their part in the sweep with an 8-1 win at No. 3.
 
The winning didn't stop once singles started with freshman Kyle Henry's 6-4, 7-5 win at No. 1 and Schulz's 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 2. Freshman William Persson continued the Ducks rookie wins with a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 3 while Perich took home the 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 4.
 
Tisdale and Thigpen both also won their matchups at No. 5 and No. 6 respectively.
