RESULTS
ITHACA, N.Y. (May 2, 2015) – The No. 22 Stevens Institute of Technology men's tennis team easily defeated Elmira College Saturday, 6-0 in the semifinal of the Empire 8 Conference Championship at Ithaca College.
Juniors
Ben Foran and
Matthew Heinrich continued their success this season with an 8-0 win at first doubles to start off the day. Freshmen
Danny Polk and sophomore
Charles Drake extended the lead with their 8-0 win at No. 3 before sophomore
Michael Feldman and freshman
Kyle Henry completed the sweep with an 8-2 win at No. 2.
The win was the 11
th of the season for Polk and Drake, while Heinrich and Foran moved their record to 11-3.
Polk continued his winning with a straight sets win at fifth singles, followed by Drake's 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 4 to clinch the match. Heinrich completed his match at No. 1 with a 6-0, 6-0 win to conclude the semifinal.
The Ducks will return to the courts tomorrow at 11 a.m. as they'll seek their sixth consecutive E8 title.
