Box Score HOBOKEN, N.J. (May 9, 2015) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's lacrosse team used a 10 goal second half to storm past Arcadia University in the ECAC Women's Lacrosse Mid-Atlantic Championship semifinals Saturday.
 
The Ducks improve to 14-5 overall, and will battle Lebanon Valley College in the championship game tomorrow at noon. LVC was victorious 15-12 over McDaniel College earlier.
 
Stevens grabbed an early goal from freshman Julianna Ricci 4:12 into the game, and the lead was doubled two minutes later as Ricci added another tally, this time off a feed from classmate Cami Santor. Junior Erika Wilcox added a marker with 16:52 left, but the Knights inched closer with a strike from junior Dawn Faranetta. That was it for the scoring in the opening 30, as the two defenses held strong.
 
After a scoreless 7:28 of the second stanza, sophomore Kathleen Kalbian broke the drought and buried a pass from Santor. Kalbian added a second goal just 53 seconds later, and at the 18:57 mark, it was Santor scoring this off a pass from senior Andrea Dragoni to put the hosts up five.
 
Wilcox added two goals and Ricci scored another three minutes apart to give the Ducks a commanding edge of 9-1. Stevens would add two more goals before Faranetta scored off a free position with 2:58 left, but Dragoni capped off the scoring with a goal with 51 seconds left.
 
Stevens held a 26-10 edge in shots and a 19-12 advantage in the ground ball department. Wilcox had four goals, an assist and eight shots while Kalbian and Ricci each netted three goals, with Kalbian scooping up a team best seven ground balls. Freshman Stephanie Schnelzer made five to record the win.
 
Faranetta led the way for Arcadia with four shots, while Dana Roessler had three ground balls and three caused turnovers. Liz Stierle made nine saves in the defeat.
