Brook Leads Field Hockey To E8 Win

HOBOKEN, N.J. (September 26, 2015) – Stevens Institute of Technology field hockey senior Dailyn Brook scored two goals Saturday to lead the Ducks to a 2-0, Empire 8 Conference win over Washington and Jefferson College.

The win was the fifth straight for the Ducks, bringing their overall record to 6-2 (2-1), while the Presidents fell to 4-5 (1-2).

The goals sent Brook's career total to 51, bringing her within two of tying the all-time scoring record. The assist was Prouty's team-leading sixth of the season. As a team, the Ducks out-shot W&J 18-8.

W&J came-out strong with a pair of shots in the opening three minutes, however the Ducks were able to respond with six shots over the next 16 minutes, before breaking through with Brook's goal soon after.

After taking a pass in the corner, Brook beat the goalie one-on-one in the right side of the cage for the score. The Stevens veteran followed it up less than two minutes later, tipping Prouty's shot past the goalie to extend the lead to two.

Stevens' defense took control from there, limiting W&J to just one shot over the final 14 minutes of the half before continuing the shutout through the second. The President's were able to put a shot on goal in minutes 43, however junior goalie Emily Stukenborg made the stop to keep W&F off the board and send the Ducks to the win.

The Ducks will be back in action tomorrow when they host Kean University at 1 p.m. at the De Baun Athletic Complex.
