Field Hockey Eyes Bounce-Back Against Drew


HOBOKEN, N.J. (September 8, 2015) – The Stevens Institute of Technology field hockey team will be looking to rebound from an opening-day loss Wednesday when it travels to Drew University for a 7 p.m. game.

FAMILIAR FOE

Wednesday's meeting will be the seventh in the last nine years between Drew and Stevens, with each team having won three times. The Ducks are coming off a 4-1 win in last year's matchup however, and have won two of the last three.

LOCAL FLAVOR

Drew marks the seventh team on the Ducks schedule this season from the state of New Jersey.

MILESTONE MAKER

Junior Emily Stukenborg cemented her name in the Stevens record books last week when she became the Ducks all-time saves leader at 302. Stukenborg surpassed the mark of 298 set by Stephanie Smith in 2008.

SHOOTING STAR

Senior Erin Silvestri led the Ducks with three shots, including two on goal, in the Ducks opening game against The College of New Jersey. Silvestri led the Ducks in shots last season with 112. 

SETTING THE MARK

Senior Dailyn Brook needs five more goals to reach 50 her for career, while senior Victoria Alvarez needs three scores to reach 20. Brook also sits 13 shots shy of 200.
