HOBOKEN, N.J. (January 22, 2016) – Three Ducks scored in double-figures Friday in the Stevens Institute of Technology men's basketball team's 84-74 loss to Nazareth College in Hoboken.

The loss dropped Stevens to 7-8 (3-4), while Naz rose to 10-6 (6-1).

Senior Alex Lorenz led the Ducks with a double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds, while junior Evan Klimchak scored 21 with seven boards and three assists. Junior Patrick Barron chipped-in with 14, in addition to nine points and five assists from sophomore Chris Cosgrove. 

The Ducks shot 42.9 percent from the field, and won the turnover battle 14-10.

Both teams went back-and-forth over the first 10 minutes of regulation before a Lorenz layup put the Ducks up four, 22-18. Naz answered with an 8-2 run two minutes later to take a four point lead, but the Ducks stayed within reach before Kilmchak tied the game at 30 with just under four to go.

It's as close to the lead as Stevens would get in the first however as a 13-3 Naz run to close the half put the Ducks in a 10-point hole going into the break.

Stevens exploded out of the locker room with a 12-0 run keyed by a pair of threes from Klimchak, but Naz provided an answer with a 12-0 run of its own to regain its 10 point lead with 11 minutes remaining. Cosgrove ended the drought with a pair of free-throws, but three straight from Naz built the defecit to 11.

Klimchak brought the Ducks back to within six three minutes later with a three, however it's as close as Stevens would get the rest of the night as Naz went 10-for-10 from the line in the final minute to seal the Duck loss.

The Ducks will continue their E8 schedule next Friday with a matchup against St. John Fisher College at 4 p.m. in Canavan Arena.
