ELMIRA, N.Y. (January 4, 2016) – Stevens Institute of Technology men's basketball sophomore Chris Cosgrove hit a pair of free throws with 14 seconds remaining in overtime Monday to seal the Ducks 95-94 win over Elmira College.

Elmira tired the game with a three at the buzzer in regulation, but a three from junior Evan Klimchak in the overtime period's opening minute gave Stevens a lead it wouldn't relinquish for the remainder of the game.

The win snapped a four-game losing streak for the Ducks to even their record at 5-5 (1-1), while Elmira fell to 2-8 (0-1) with the loss.

Klimchak led the Ducks with 24 points to go along with three rebounds and a pair of assists, while junior Patrick Barron poured-in 20 in addition to seven boards and four assists. As a team, the Ducks shot 47.8 percent from the field while going 22-for-29 from the line.

A three from senior Kevin Zychowski gave the Ducks their largest lead of the day at nine in the game's opening seven minutes, before Elmira answered with an 11-4 run to pull within one with four minutes remaining.

Elmira grabbed the lead after three straight free-throws with just over two minutes to go, however a 7-0 Stevens run capped by a Klimchak buzzer-beating heave put the Ducks up 40-34 heading into the break.

Stevens maintained its lead through the remainder of regulation before a last-second Elmira three sent the game into overtime tied at 78. The Soaring Eagles landed the first punch of the extra frame with a pair of free throws, however Klimchak's three put the Ducks ahead for good as a 6-0 run with under two minutes to go propelled Stevens to the win.
