HOBOKEN, N.J. (October 29, 2016) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's swim team topped Rowan 155-107 in the season-opener Saturday.
The Ducks got off to a hot start, as the 200-medley relay team of
Courtney Jones, Katelynn Prescott,
Sarah Jurczyk and
Danielle Caruso took first in the opening event. Senior
Claire Hendershot notched a second place time of 11:26.8 in the 1,000 yard freestyle, while the Ducks went 1-2-3 in the 200-free, led by Caruso's time of 1:58.7.
Prescott racked up a first place time of 1:10.7 in the 100-yard breaststroke, while Jurczyk turned in a 2:09.2 time in the 200-fly, good for first. Jones and freshman
Isabella Fairman went 2-3 in the 100-free, with Hendershot picking her second first place finish of the day in the 200-back. Prescott and Caruso each grabbed their second wins of the day in the 200-breast and 500-free resepectively, with Jurczyk claiming first in the 100-fly.
Tori Glascock notched a first place time of 2:17.63 in the 200-IM, and the 400-free relay team of Fairman,
Samantha Geyer, Jurczyk and Caruso claimed first in 3:41.78 to close out the event.
