New Paltz grabbed the early lead with a goal two minutes in, before adding to it three minutes later out of a penalty corner. The Ducks answered with a pair of shots on goal that were saved, before breaking through during the 18-minute mark.
Off a feed from O'Hearn, Alvarez batted the ball out of the air past the goalie for the goal. The score was the fourth of the season for Alvarez, and third in as many games.
After going scoreless for the remainder of the half, New Paltz built its lead back to two four minutes into the second. Another score 13 minutes later put Stevens in a three-goal hole, but the Ducks responded with two unanswered to pull within one.
O'Hearn started the run off a cross from Thomasian, before Prouty's loft-shot goal off Littell's corner made it 4-3. It's as close as Stevens would get however as New Paltz's goal in the final minute served as the final blow.
The Ducks will be back in action Saturday morning when they play at St. John Fisher.
