No. 5 Women’s Soccer Hits The Road For Two Games

HOBOKEN, N.J. (October 7, 2016) – The No. 5 Stevens Institute of Technology women's soccer team heads to upstate New York for a pair of Empire 8 Conference matches this weekend.

GAME INFO
On Saturday, the Ducks will battle Houghton at 1:30 p.m. before facing Alfred on Sunday with a noon start.

LAST TIME OUT
Stevens scored once in each half to top St. John Fisher 2-0 last Saturday, improving to 9-0-0 and 3-0-0 in the Empire 8.

MOVIN' ON UP
The Ducks entered the top five of the NSCAA poll this week, moving from No. 7 up to No. 5. In the d3soccer.com rankings, Stevens holds still at No. 2.

HOUGHTON REPORT
The Highlanders enter Saturday with a 5-3-2 mark, including a 1-1-0 record in conference. Nikki Garns is tops on Houghton with six goals and three assists.

SAXON SCOUTING
Alfred sits at 7-4-0 overall, and also are 1-1-0 within the E8, and are paced by Amanda Roberts' 15 points.

GETTING AHEAD
Senior Raba Nassif knocked in a header from sophomore Olivia Butera for the Ducks first goal of the contest against the Cardinals. Nassif is currently second on the team with seven goals and tied for the club lead with 18 points.

FIRST POINT CLUB
Freshman Hannah Pendergast collected an assist on the Zisi Komar tally on Saturday, joining classmates Julia Panko and Gabriella Saade as others to score the first point of their college careers this year.

KEEPING THE BALANCE
Five Ducks have scored over 11 or more points, while nine members of the team have found the back of the net for goals this year.

SAVES!
Junior Lindsey Mahnken and sophomore Madi Chollett have combined to make 27 saves this year. While facing a total of 80 shots, the duo has only allowed five goals.
