HOBOKEN, N.J. (November 3, 2016) – The Stevens Institute of Technology field hockey team will look to defend its title this weekend when it takes the field for the 2016 Empire 8 Conference Championship.

CHAMPIONSHIP INFO
Fourth-seeded Stevens will battle top-seeded St. John Fisher in the first semifinal Friday at 4 p.m., for the right to play either Washington & Jefferson or Hartwick in Saturday's final at 4 p.m.

All games will played at St. John Fisher in Rochester.

LAST TIME OUT
W&J edged Stevens 3-2 in the regular-season finale last weekend in Washington, Pa.

SCOUTING REPORT
Fisher finished the season 16-2 with an unbeaten 8-0 mark in the E8. The Cardinals have outscored opponents 59-15, and feature three scorers who've scored at least 12 goals this season. 

REVENGE TIME
Fisher escaped with a 1-0 win against Stevens earlier this season after scoring late in the second half. 

IN CASE YOU FORGOT
Stevens became the first field hockey three seed in the history of the conference to win the championship last season after topping both Fisher and Ithaca. 

HEY NOW, YOU'RE AN ALL STAR
Senior Nolie Prouty was named to the NFHCA Senior All-Star Game Wednesday, making her the second Duck in-a-row to earn the spot. Prouty leads the Ducks with 10 goals and nine assists. 

STONEWALL STUKE
Senior goalie Emily Stukenborg has given up just 10 goals in Stevens' last seven games, lowering her goals against average to 2.12. The veteran will be making her seventh-career postseason start Friday.
