HOBOKEN, N.J. (March 19, 2016) - The No. 15 Stevens Institute of Technology men's lacrosse team didn't allow a goal in the first and fourth quarters Saturday in 9-2 win over Haverford College.
The win moved Stevens to 6-1, while Haverford fell to 4-3.
Senior
Matt Ferentini and sophomore
Tommy Dawson each scored twice, while senior
Andrew Scrutchfield, freshman
Dean Peluso, senior
Michael Serrante, freshman
Max Bailey, and junior
Connor McKeon each chipped-in with one.
As a team, the Ducks outshot Haverford 33-13, and forced 23 turnovers.
Stevens got on the board early with Serrante's goal five minutes in off a feed from freshman
Eric Radbourne, but it's all the scoring they would get the rest of the quarter as shots from senior
Connor O'Shea and Bailey were each saved by Haverford goalie Eric Caliendo.
The Fords connected on the equalizer three minutes into the second, before goals from Bailey and Dawson over the next two minutes built the Stevens lead back to two.
Scrutchfield and McKeon continued the run with goals that made it 5-1 Stevens heading into the break, but Haverford inched closer with their second score of the game four minutes into the third.
It's all the scoring Stevens' defense would allow however as Ferentini provided an answer with his goal three minutes later, followed by scores from Peluso, Dawson, and another from Ferentini to seal the win.
The Ducks will now head to Clermont, Fla. for a 5 p.m. matchup against Bowdoin College on March 22.
