Women’s Lacrosse Looks To Break Streak Against Stockton

HOBOKEN, N.J. (March 30, 2016) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's lacrosse team (2-4) will look to snap its four-game slide Thursday when it hosts Stockton University in non-conference action.  

GAME INFO
Game time is set for 4 p.m. at the De Baun Athletic Complex in Hoboken. 

LAST TIME OUT
Ithaca College scored in the final minute Saturday to edge the Ducks 14-13 in a back-and-forth battle in Hoboken. Junior Kathleen Kalbian scored five goals, while senior Erika Wilcox and Mary Beth Irwin each scored four. 

SCOUTING REPORT
Stockton enters action Thursday unbeaten at 7-0 this season, and coming off an 11-7 win over Drew University earlier this week. Sarah Frankovic leads the Ospreys with 23 goals, while Mary Stornes has 37 saves in seven starts. 

TAKING ADVANTAGE
Irwin's four points off four goals Saturday set a new career-high in the junior's first career start. 

CONSISTENT CAPTAIN
Wilcox's four goals Saturday marked the fifth game this season the senior captain has scored at least four goals in a game. Wilcox is currently second in the Empire 8 Conference with a scoring average of four goals per game. 

HOME AND HOME
Thursday's matchup will be the second in as many seasons between Stevens and Stockton after the Ducks captured the 11-5 win last spring. 

LOCAL FLAVOR
Thursday's game will be the fourth of the season for the Ducks against an interstate opponent, where the Ducks are 2-1 so far. 

D IS KEY
Captained by junior Betsy Crossland, the Stevens defensive unit of junior Madison Annitto, freshman Regan Littell, and sophomore Victoria Alvarez is second in the E8 in goals allowed. Each of the four have started all six games for the Ducks this season.

MAKE YOURSELF AT HOME
Thursday's game will be the second of five consecutive at home for the Ducks.
