Women’s Lacrosse Faces Tough Test Wednesday

HOBOKEN, N.J. (March 8, 2016) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's lacrosse team (2-0) will face the toughest test of its young season Wednesday when it travels to No. 2 Trinity College. 

GAME INFO
Game time is set for 5:30 p.m. at the Robin L. Sheppard Field in Hartford, Conn.

LAST TIME OUT
Behind a strong defensive effort anchored by a 10-save performance from sophomore Stephanie Schnelzer, the Ducks topped Rowan University, 9-3 Saturday to stay unbeaten on the season.

SCOUTING REPORT
Last year's national runner-up, Trinity has won its first two games this season by a combined score of 27-10. Martha Griffin has been the primary catalyst on offense with 10 goals and a pair of assists, while Zoe Ferguson has made both starts in goal.

WEEKLY HONORS
Stevens swept the Empire 8 Conference's weekly honors this week with Schnelzer's nod as the goalie of the week, and senior Erika Wilcox's nod as player of the week.

HEAD OF THE EMPIRE
At nine goals so far this season, Wilcox leads the E8 in scoring, while sophomore Cami Santor is the conference's leading assister with seven. Schnelzer is the conference's leader in saves with 15. 

LONG TIME NO SEE
Wednesday's matchup will be the first between Stevens and Trinity since the 2012 season when the then No. 8 Bantams came away with the 11-7 win.

D IS KEY
Keying the Ducks defensive effort from Wednesday's win was sophomore Victoria Alvarez who tallied five ground balls and three caused turnovers. 

ROAD WARRIORS
The Ducks have won six of their last seven away from Hoboken dating back to last season.
