HOBOKEN, N.J. (April 15, 2016) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's lacrosse team (7-5, 3-1) will travel to Nazareth College and No. 17 St. John Fisher College this weekend as part of an Empire 8 Conference back-to-back.
WEEKEND INFO
The Ducks start the weekend at noon against Naz Saturday, before ending it against St. John Fisher Sunday at noon.
LAST TIME OUT
Eleven different Ducks scored goals Wednesday in a commanding 17-5 road-win over Arcadia University. Stevens outscored Arcadia 14-1 in the first half.
SCOUTING REPORT
At 7-5 (2-2), Naz enters the weekend of a mid-week loss to first place Fisher. Led by Haley DeVona, seven different Golden Flyers have recorded double-digit scoring figures this season.
Fisher enters a Saturday matchup against Elmira 12-1 (4-0), and riding a five-game winning streak. Fisher's defense has allowed an E8-low 61 goals this season, while its offense is leading the conference with 156 goals.
WHERE THEY STAND
Stevens sits in third place in the conference after an E8 win last weekend over Utica College, while Fisher is in a tie with Ithaca College for first at 4-0. Naz is right behind the Ducks in the standings in fifth place at 2-2.
KEEPING IT 100
Junior
Kathleen Kalbian became the ninth member of the 100-goal club Wednesday against Arcadia. Kalbian is second on the team this season in scoring, and first in draw controls.
PAYBACK
Stevens is looking to avenge losses to both Naz and Fisher from last season, including a 10-7 loss to Fisher in the E8 championship semifinal.
CONSISTENT CAPTAIN
Senior
Erika Wilcox recorded her 11th multi-goal game of the season Wednesday, extending her goal total to a team-leading 46. The senior captain enters the weekend leading the E8 in scoring.
WELCOME BACK
Sophomore
Cami Santor made her return to the field from injury Wednesday with a pair of goals. Despite missing five games, Santor is still top-10 in the E8 in assists.
BATTLE TESTED
Fisher will be the third opponent the Ducks have seen this season that was ranked in the IWLCA top-20 at the time of the matchup.
