HOBOKEN, N.J. (April 29, 2016) – The No. 21 Stevens Institute of Technology men's tennis team will host Hartwick College and Utica College Saturday in its final matches of the 2015-16 regular season.
MATCH INFO
Match one with Hartwick is scheduled for 11 a.m., followed by match two with Utica at 2 p.m. Both matches are scheduled to take place on the Stevens tennis courts in Hoboken.
LAST TIME OUT
Stevens ran its win streak to five Monday afternoon with a dominating 8-1 win over The College of New Jersey.
SCOUTING REPORT
Hartwick and Utica bring a combined 3-17 record into the weekend, including a combined 1-13 mark in the Empire 8 Conference.
HERE'S THE DEAL
Stevens is the only unbeaten team left in the E8, and will clinch the top seed with a pair of wins Saturday. The championship will take place next weekend in Hoboken.
KEEPING IT 100
Senior
Matthew Heinrich became the first player in the history of the program to record 100 singles wins with a victory Monday against TCNJ. Heinrich is the program's all-time leader in singles and doubles wins.
STAYING HOT
Sophomore
Danny Polk extended his singles win streak to eight after another victory Monday.
DOUBLE-DIGITS
Heinrich and senior
Ben Foran have each recorded double-digit singles wins total this season, followed closely behind by junior
Charles Drake's nine.
WELL-ROUNDED
Stevens has tried 16 different doubles combos this season, eight of which gone unbeaten. Heinrich/Foran has been the Ducks most steady doubles presence with a 13-2 record.
