HOBOKEN, N.J. (May 6, 2016) – The second-seeded Stevens Institute of Technology women's lacrosse team will be seeking its first Empire 8 Conference championship since 2011 this weekend, starting tomorrow with a semifinal matchup against third-seeded St. John Fisher College.

Saturday's semi is set to begin at 1:30 p.m., with Sunday's final scheduled for noon. All game of the championship will take place at top-seeded Ithaca College.

LAST TIME OUT
Stevens put an exclamation point on its regular season last Saturday with a 20-4 road-win over Elmira College.

SCOUTING FISHER
Fisher brings a 14-3 record into this weekend's championship, with one of its losses coming against Stevens on April 17. The Cardinals attack features seven different players who've scored more than 10 goals this season, while their defense is the toughest to score against in the E8.

LEADING THE EMPIRE
Senior Erika Wilcox enters the weekend tied for the conference lead with 66 goals this spring. Wilcox's 4.40 goals per game is the best mark in the E8.

DRAW!
Led by 59 from junior Kathleen Kalbian and 48 from Wilcox, Stevens is tied for second in the E8 with 199 draw controls this season.

STEPPING UP
After registering just two points over the Ducks first six games, junior Mariel Haubrich has scored or assisted in nine of the last 10, including a career-high five assists in Stevens' win over Elmira last weekend.

DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS
Captained by junior Betsy Crossland, the Stevens defense has the second best goals-allowed mark in the E8. The Ducks have held six opponents this season to five goals or less.

RISING ROOKIE
Freshman Mackenzie Metzler has tallied multi-goal games in four-straight contests for Stevens, including a career-high three in last weekend's win.
