EDGEWATER, N.J. (May 7, 2016) – The No. 21 Stevens Institute of Technology men's tennis team continued its conference win streak Saturday with a 5-0 win over Nazareth College in the semifinal match of the Empire 8 Conference Championship
The win moved top-seeded Stevens to 17-7, while fourth-seeded Naz's season ends at 6-12. The Ducks will play second-seeded Ithaca College in tomorrow's final.
Junior
Michael Feldman and sophomore
Danny Polk started the winning for the Ducks with an 8-2 win at second doubles, followed soon after by sophomore
Kyle Henry and freshman
Kyle Cenderelli's 8-3 win at first.
The victory moved Feldman/Polk's record to 5-0, while Henry/Cenderelli moved to 4-2.
Senior
Jacob Thigpen and freshman
Divin Sarthak completed the doubles sweep with an 8-2 win at third, giving the Ducks the commanding 3-0 lead heading into singles.
Once there, senior
Ben Foran made quick work of his opponent with a 6-2, 6-0 win at third, followed quickly after by Polk's 6-0, 6-0 victory at first to seal the match.
The Ducks will look to capture their seventh consecutive championship tomorrow at 11 a.m. at Binghamton Racquet Club.
