Women’s swimming falls just short in setback at TCNJ

Short Story: Seven first-place finishes were not enough as the No. 18 Stevens Institute of Technology women's swimming team dropped a closely-contested meet at TCNJ, 147-137.

Top Finishers

The Ducks opened the meet with a narrow victory in the 200-yard medley relay. Sophomore Courtney Jones, juniors Kaitlynn Prescott and Sarah Jurczyk, and senior Danielle Caruso completed the race with a time of 1:54.
Caruso teamed with freshman Isabella Fairman to finish first and second in the 200-yard freestyle. Caruso won the race in a time of 1:58.75.
Jurczyk returned to the pool for another top finish in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing over three seconds ahead of the field, with a time of 1:01.57.
Prescott followed her earlier victory with another first-place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke, outtouching TCNJ's Marta Lawler at the wall by one-half second.
Stevens earned its only sweep of the meet, as Caruso, Fairman, and freshman Samantha Zdesar earned the top-three spots in the 500-yard freestyle.
Jurczyk earned her third victory of the meet with a narrow win in the 50-yard butterfly. The junior won the race in a time of 27.38 seconds.
The Ducks earned 16 points in 200-yard individual medley as Prescott, junior Tori Glascock, and sophomore Samantha Geyer finished 1-2-3 in the race. It was the final victory of the meet for the Ducks.
