Women’s Swimming falls at NYU Fall Invite

Short Story: The Stevens Institute of Technology women's swimming team earned six second-place finishes, but fell to New York University Saturday at the NYU Fall Invitational Saturday.
Of note: The two-day event was held in a championship-style meet format.

Top Performers

The Ducks opened the event by finishing second in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Freshman Isabelle Rivera, sophomore Isabella Fairman, senior Tori Glascock and junior Courtney Jones reached the wall in 1:41.87, earning 26 points towards the team total.
Jones and Rivera finished second and third respectively in the 50-yard freestyle. Jones completed the sprint in 25.03 seconds, while Rivera followed 14 hundredths-of-a-second later.
Fairman joined with junior Samantha Geyer to place second and third in the 400-yard individual medley. Fairman reached the wall in 4:45.26 and Geyer followed in 4:47.99.
The 'A' quartet of Geyer, Fairman, Jones and sophomore Samantha Zdesar placed second in the 800-yard freestyle relay with a time 8:09.01.
Jones touched second in the 100-yard freestyle sprint with a time of 55.36 seconds.
The 'A' team of Rivera, Geyer, Fairman and Jones finished the 400-yard freestyle relay in 3:44.04 to earn 26 points.
