HOBOKEN, N.J. (March 4, 2017) – No. 3 Tufts took a 9-2 halftime lead and never looked back Saturday in a 19-6 win over the No. 20 Stevens Institute of Technology men's lacrosse team in a chilly Hoboken.
The loss drops Stevens to 3-1, while Tufts moved to 1-0.

Tommy Dawson and sophomore
Max Bailey each tallied two goals on a combined 10 shots, while defensively senior
Jan Schoonen caused four turnovers. Sophomore
Nicholas Carnovale won seven times on the faceoff, and senior
Tim Leahey picked up four ground balls.

Carson White tallied 14 saves in just over 51 minutes of action.
Stevens struck first when Dawson scored off a feed from Bailey on a man-up opportunity, but Tufts responded with three unanswered to take a 3-1 lead after one. The Jumbos continued the run with four more over the first six minutes of the second, but Bailey ended the run with just under nine to play off a pass from sophomore
Dean Peluso.
Tufts scored two more in the second to go up 9-2 at the half, and answered Bailey's early second-quarter goal with six straight to end the quarter.
Dawson inched the Ducks closer with his goal in the opening minute of the fourth, but three more from Tufts put the game out of reach before Stevens tallied two more in the final three minutes.
Stevens will be back in action Wednesday when it travels to Springfield for the first of five straight away from Hoboken.
