CHESTER, Pa. (September 27, 2017) – An early goal by Shea Morgan earned Widener University a 1-0 win over the Stevens Institute of Technology men's soccer team Wednesday evening in a non-conference match.

Daniel Aversano rang one off the post in the 58th minute, and Widener goalkeeper Danny Thompson made eight saves to preserve the clean sheet. Widener evened its record at 3-3-2.
Sophomore
Mitko Bozinov made five saves in his first start of the season, but fell to 0-1. The Woodland Park, New Jersey native led the Empire 8 Conference with a 0.98 goals against average in 2016. Stevens fell to 4-4-1.
Pivotal Point
- Widener took a 1-0 lead on the first shot of the match.
- After the Pride earned their first corner, Noah Saba's kick was played by Mac Schailey, who executed a perfectly played, one-touch pass to Shea Morgan, who headed the ball from just inside the six-yard box into the upper-right corner of the goal.
- It was Morgan's first collegiate goal.

- Stevens held an 8-6 edge in shots on goal.
- Four different players recorded three shots for Stevens to lead all players. All three of junior Danny Nasti's shots were on net.
