Field Hockey Tops William Paterson in Double Overtime

HOBOKEN, N.J. (October 24, 2018)  – Sophomore Skylar Migliaccio scored 83 seconds into the second overtime as the Stevens Institute of Technology field hockey team rallied for a 2-1 victory over William Paterson Wednesday in a non-conference matchup at the DeBaun Athletic Complex.

Migliaccio passed the ball to senior Hannah Silvestri off a penalty corner, before a Pioneer defender attempted a steal. Freshman Aryana Muscara was able to regain possession for the Ducks and pass to senior Regan Littell, who sent the ball back to Migliaccio at the post to score the game-winner.

Sophomore Brynn Froehlich redirected a shot from Silvestri into the back of the cage with under four minutes left in regulation to send the game into overtime, as the Ducks improved to 11-6 this season.

After a scoreless first half, Abigail Viola scored the Pioneers' lone goal after a penalty corner in the 41st minute to take the lead. William Paterson fell to 7-10 on the season.
