HOBOKEN, N.J. (October 9, 2018) – No. 21 Stevens Institute of Technology fired 17 shots, but could not find the back of the net, and fell to No. 16 Franklin & Marshall College 1-0 Tuesday in a non-conference fixture at the DeBaun Athletic Complex.
Senior
Aaron Henry made a pair of saves for the Ducks, who fell to 11-2-1. The setback snapped Stevens' 10-match unbeaten streak.
A.J. Kopacz recorded the lone goal of the match in the 61st minute and Christopher Amoruso made six saves for the Diplomats, who improved to 10-1-2. Franklin & Marshall has won two straight.
Stevens had a pair of quality chances in the match, but sophomore
Cristiano Hocken rang a shot off the crossbar in the 21st minute and Amoruso made a leaping save to rob freshman
Adam Silva in the 80th minute.
Pivotal Point
- Locked in a possession battle, Ugo Okolie took advantage of a Stevens turnover and went on a long run down the far sideline.
- Okolie fired a cross from well to the left of the goal.
- Kopacz rose above the pack and headed the ball neatly inside the post for his sixth marker of the season.
