Three Three-Pointers from #3 Pushes Women's Basketball Past NYU

HOBOKEN, N.J. (November 28, 2018)  – Freshman Allie Moss drained three shots from beyond the arc as the Stevens Institute of Technology women's basketball team topped New York University 60-47 in Wednesday evening's non-conference matchup at Canavan Arena.

Freshman Jess Broad tallied game-highs of 16 points and five steals as the Ducks improved to 5-2 overall. Moss added a career-high 11 points, while graduate student Anna Toke led Stevens on the boards with a game-high 13 rebounds.

The teams alternated points to start the game, but the Ducks ended the first quarter on a 5-0 run capped off by a three-point-play from Broad after being fouled on a made layup. The Marlboro, New Jersey native opened the second quarter with another three-point-play after making a steal and going coast-coast before drawing the foul on the made basket.

The Violets were able to shorten Stevens' lead to seven at the end of the third quarter after a layup by Olivia Linebarger, but back-to-back baskets from Broad and Toke at the start of the fourth quarter put the Ducks ahead for good.

NYU was paced by Katie Foos, who made five three-pointers to finish with 15 points. The Violets fell to 2-2 on the year.
