  • Short Story: No. 39 Stevens Institute of Technology Men's Tennis dropped just 20 points over 18 matches en route to 9-0 sweeps of Elmira College and The Sage Colleges Saturday in an Empire 8 Conference doubleheader.
  • The records: Stevens: 10-9; 6-0 (Empire 8); Elmira: 2-7; 2-4 (Empire 8); Sage: 0-8; 0-5 (Empire 8)
  • Of note: The victories moved the Ducks to a perfect 6-0 in the Empire 8 Conference. With two league matches left next weekend, Stevens needs to win just one of the two to secure the program's eighth consecutive E8 regular season title. 
  • Also of note: The Ducks have compiled an amazing 63-match winning streak in Empire 8 Conference regular season matches. Stevens last lost a conference match during the regular season on April 10, 2010, when the Ducks fell to Ithaca College, 5-4. 
    
How It Happened
  • Stevens posted nine shutouts on the day, with four coming against Elmira and five against Sage. 
  • Freshmen Arjun Kirshman and Gabriel Sifuentes, along with senior David Schulz each posted two singles victories on the day. Six different players collected one win in singles competition. 
  • In doubles play, each of the three competing tandems posted two victories on the day. The senior team of Kyle Henry and William Persson posted consecutive 8-0 decisions in the second position.
  • The freshman team of Keegan Morris and Mark Kanevsky posted an 8-0 shutout in the third position against Sage and the team of freshman Bryan Szayna and senior Danny Polk posted back-to-back 8-2 wins in the top doubles position.
