HOBOKEN, N.J. (September 18, 2018) – No. 22 Stevens Institute of Technology men's soccer extended its unbeaten streak to six with a hard-fought 0-0 tie against the United States Merchant Marine Academy Tuesday at the DeBaun Athletic Complex.
Senior
Aaron Henry posted his fourth clean sheet of the season for the Ducks, who moved to 7-1-1 on the year. It's the second consecutive season Stevens has played to a scoreless draw.
Henry's counterpart, Matthew Milner made five saves for Merchant Marine, who moved to 4-1-1.
A defensive and physical contest, neither team registered a shot on net over the first 45 minutes. Merchant Marine's lone scoring opportunity came in the 50th minute. Wagner Mogga broke free and took a hard shot towards the net, but the ball sailed well high over the top of the goal.
Pivotal Point
- Stevens' best scoring opportunity came in the 82nd minute.
- Freshman Adam Silva lofted a high shot that Milner punched over the top of the goal.
- On the ensuing corner, senior Chris Cesario headed Haddy Abdelhady's corner wide of the goal.
Inside the Numbers
- Stevens outshot USMMA, 19-9 and held a 5-0 advantage in shots on net, although Stevens did not record its first shot on net until the second half.

- Senior Daniel Aversano led all players six shots, while Silva fired a match-high three shots on net.
- Henry lowered his Empire 8 Conference-leading goals against average to 0.54.
Unsung Heroes
