Box Score Ewing, N.J. (September 23, 2018) – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's tennis team competed their first singles competition of season at day 2 of TCNJ Kickoff tournament today. The men's tennis team competed against New York University and the College of New Jersey on TCNJ's tennis complex. The Ducks competed in a total of 16 individual single flights and won a total of seven on the day.
Sophomore
Bryan Szayna and
Gabriel Sifuentes lead the way for Ducks by recording a 2-0 record on the day. Sophomore
Bryan Szayna started his day with a competitive match against Rahul Das of NYU, he won the first set 6-4 and the second set came down to a tiebreaker which Bryan gutted out for a 7-5 win. In Bryan's second single flight of the day he faced Thomas Wright of TCNJ, after dropping the first set 4-6 he rallied to take the next set 7-6. In a winner take all tiebreaker Bryan prevailed by a score of 10-8 to get his second win of the day.
Sophomore
Gabriel Sifuentes cruised to a 6-4, 6-1 win against Christian Otero of NYU to start his day. Gabriel got off to a hot start in his next single flight against TCNJ taking the first set 6-2. Gabriel's TCNJ counterpart did not go down quietly, Gabriel battled to take the next set 7-6 in tiebreaker. Freshman

Keegan Morris also tasted victory by each recording a win on the day. Freshmen
Marc Feliu Gomez and
Garrett Kincaid put forth respectable performances in their singles debut but came up a little short in both their match ups.
Up Next: The Stevens Men's Tennis team will be back in action next weekend when they participate in the ITA Northeast Regional. Action is slated to start on September 29
th.
