HOBOKEN, N.J. (January 15, 2019) – Freshman
Jess Broad tallied a game-high 22 points on 11-of-16 shooting as the Stevens Institute of Technology women's basketball team defeated The Sage Colleges 72-62 in Tuesday night's Empire 8 conference matchup at Canavan Arena.

Anna Toke and sophomore
Maddi Hahn each added 13 points, while Toke pulled down a team-high nine rebounds. The Ducks improved to 9-6 on the year and 4-2 in the E8.
The Gators were led by Gessica Patregnani with 11 points and Guiliana Pritchard with a game-high 15 rebounds. Sage fell to 7-7 overall and 2-3 in the conference.
Megan Flynn opened the scoring after a good layup to put Sage on the board first. The Ducks responded with a good free throw by Toke and a jumper by freshman
Meghan Douglas to take a lead they would never relinquish.
Inside the Numbers
- Sage held the edge in rebounds, 45-43.
- The Stevens bench contributed 43 points as 11 different players scored.
- Sophomore Christina Li dished out a career-high six assists.
- Toke and Hahn each delivered two blocks.
- Hahn finished 2-for-3 from behind the arc.
- Sophomore Lily Taeuber tied her career-high of three steals.
- The Ducks totaled 15 second-chance points.
- Five of Toke's nine rebounds were on the offensive end.

- "I thought tonight the consistency we found on the defensive end was a step in the right direction," stated head women's basketball coach Megan Haughey. "We are getting lots of contributions from a variety of players and that has to continue in order for us to reach our goals."
