ORLANDO, FLA. (March 21, 2019) – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's tennis team took on Luther College on Thursday evening in their Spring Break trip finale. The Ducks were able to get back in the win column by posting 6-3 win over their Midwest foe to finish the week on a high note in the sunshine state. Stevens snapped Luther's four match win streak and improved to 2-6 on the season, the Norse dropped to 4-2.

Freshman Marc Feliu Gomez and sophomore Bryan Szayna got the Ducks on the board by posting an 8-6 victory in the No. 1 doubles flight. Luther responded with a doubles flight victory of their own to even the score at 1-1. The freshmen duo of Garrett Kincaid and Mark-Jonathan Pabalan battled hard in the third doubles flight but fell 8-6 and Luther took a 2-1 lead heading into the singles flights.

The Ducks came up clutch in the singles flights by winning five of them to secure their second victory of the season. Gomez got it rolling with a straight-set victory in first singles flight against Cole Schneider 6-1, 6-4. Szayna pushed the Ducks ahead on the scoreboard by posting a solid 6-4, 6-1 win in the No. 2 singles flight against Nate Parsons.
