ORLANDO, FLA. (March 21, 2019) – The Stevens Institute of Technology women's tennis team took on Luther College to close out play in Florida. The Ducks fell to the Norse of Luther 8-1 and drop to 10-5 on the season, Luther moves their record 9-5.
Luther came out strong and swept the doubles flights, pushing their lead to 3-0 in the match. Stevens battled in the singles flight but were not able swing momentum in their favor. Freshman
Alexis Fuda was the highlight match as she continues to roll in singles. Fuda posted her third singles win of the week thanks to a straight-set win in the No. 4 singles flight 6-2, 6-2 over Stephanie Almquist. The Spring Lake, N.J native pushed her season record to 10-1 and 6-0 when playing in the fourth singles flight in dual matches. Sophomore
Gabriella Tantillo came very close to getting another point on the board for the Ducks but loss a three-set thriller to Kelsey Kruse 7-6 (9-7), 3-6, 5-10.
Up Next: The women's tennis team will have a little break in their spring schedule and be back in action on their home courts on April 10
th against SUNY New Paltz.
