Box Score 2 HOBOKEN, NJ. (April 27, 2019) – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's tennis team concluded their regular season schedule in style on Saturday at Stevens Tennis Courts. Stevens propelled back into the Intercollegiate Tennis Association national rankings on Thursday and demonstrated today that they are starting to click at the right time moving into the postseason. The Ducks started the day by blanking Elmira College 9-0 and the followed that up with an 9-0 victory over The Sage Colleges. Stevens improves their overall record to 12-9 with a 6-1 record in the Empire 8. Elmira falls to 2-12 on the year and Sage drops to 2-9.
Stevens controlled both matches from start to finish today and clinched the two seed for the upcoming Empire 8 Conference Tournament which will be held at St. John Fisher University up in Rochester, New York. In their first match of the day, the Ducks cruised to a 3-0 lead heading into the singles competition against Elmira College. #4 regionally ranked Sophomore

Arjun Krishnan posted a solid 8-1 victory in the second doubles flight. Freshman
Mark-Jonathan Pabalan and freshman
Garrett Kincaid followed suit with an 8-1 victory of their own in the third doubles flight to complete the doubles sweep.
Every Stevens player who competed in the singles competition posted a straight-set win to complete the shut out against Elmira College. Szayna didn't drop a single game in the No. 2 singles flight while Kincaid and Feliu Gomez dropped a combined 3 games in their wins at the No. 4 and No. 1 singles flights, respectively. Freshman

Stevens rolled out a slightly different line up in their match up against Sage but recorded an identical result. The Ducks only dropped a single game in their second doubles sweep of the day to give them a commanding 3-0 lead heading into the singles competition. Sophomore
Mark Kanevsky posted a straight-set win in the No.1 singles flight 6-0, 6-1 and Morris followed up with a straight-set win of his own in the No. 2 singles flight 6-2,6-1. Freshman
Arjun Krishnan and Pabalan recorded their first singles wins of the day in the third and fourth singles flight. Pradier and Li recorded their second wins of the day to conclude a very successful day on their home courts. Stevens finished the regular season with a perfect 7-0 record at Castle Point and a six-match winning week.
Up Next: The men's tennis team will head up to St. John Fisher for the 2019 Empire 8 Conference tournament next weekend. The Ducks will look to win their ninth consecutive E8 Conference Championship and their tenth overall.
