BETHLEHEM, Pa. (January 19, 2020)  – Four different student-athletes either set a season-best mark or a new personal best in their respective events Saturday as the Stevens Institute of Technology men's and women's indoor track & field team continued their season at the Moravian Indoor Meet, which was contested at Lehigh University's Rauch Fieldhouse.

Sophomore AnaMaria Laccetti began her day with a season-best distance of 11.24 meters in the shot put, which was good for sixth out of the 29-thrower field. Laccetti hit the mark on her next-to-last attempt and was third among the Division III competitors. The Allentown, New Jersey native also placed ninth in the weight throw with a personal-best distance of 12.96 meters

Sophomore Samantha Reilly also set a new PR in the weight throw, hitting 10.92 meters on her third attempt. The Flemington, New Jersey native also finished seventh in the shot put, hitting 11.03 meters on her fourth attempt, narrowly missing a second personal-best.

"The throws squad had a fantastic day at Lehigh, [with] multiple personal records and season-bests," said assistant coach Tim Wilson. "We had an opportunity to hit the ground running and the team did exactly that. We're in a great place heading into our next meet and we look forward to continuing the momentum we built today."

Freshman Ashley Muliawan also set a personal record in the shot put, hitting 10.07 meters in her final attempt to place ninth. Competing in her second collegiate event, the Thornton, Pennsylvania native reached 9.33 meters in Friday's Ramapo Opener.

Senior Max McCauley was the other Duck to hit milestone marks, setting a new personal-best distance of 14.76 meters in the weight throw and a season-best distance of 12.65 meters in the shot put. The Livingston, New Jersey native's previous weight throw PR was 14.17 meters reached at the 2018 TCNJ Indoor Open. McCauley's marks were good for a fourth-place finish in the weight throw (second among DIII competitors) and 13th in the shot put.

"We took a smaller group to Lehigh to get some extra competition reps in and it paid off in spades," assistant coach John Kolibab offered. "Everyone competed well. Our throwers, in particular, are completely obliterating our expectations. The amount of growth that group has shown is tremendous, and I only see it improving from here."

Junior Jordan Detlet posted a distance of 9.97 meters in the weight throw and junior Adam Moninghoff hit a distance of 12.65 meters in the triple jump and 6.02 meters in the long jump to round out the Stevens contingent.
