The men's and women's cross country programs had outstanding showings at the Connecticut College Invitational with both
Michael Cahill and Stevens Hall of Famer
Amy Regan setting new program records in their respective sports.
Cahill finished third individually and crossed the finish line in 25:19 to shatter the previous 8K record of 25:54 set by Will Sanders in 2005. Cahill finished just five seconds behind the runner-up at the invite and used the race to propel him to the Empire 8 individual title for the first time in his career in his senior campaign.
Regan, meanwhile, clocked a 6K time of 21:29 to break her own record of 22:07 she set in her first season on Castle Point in the NCAA Division III Championship. Regan took home first place in the race defeating the next closest runner in the field of 257 participants by five seconds.

In their final year as a part of the Empire 8 Conference, the Stevens men's soccer team did what they had done many times in the past, clinch the E8 Regular Season Title as they knocked off Nazareth 2-0 to grab the crown for the eighth time in nine seasons.
Daniel Aversano scored both goals in the contest to help the Ducks clinch a host spot for the third straight season. In their 12 seasons in the Empire 8, Stevens won the Empire 8 Regular Season Title nine times and won the E8 Conference Tournament title 11 times. Overall, Stevens went 70-4-6 in E8 regular season contests throughout their time in the conference and 20-0-2 in Empire 8 Tournament play.
Oct. 21, 2007 – Wilson Collects New School Record for 400 IM and 200 Breaststroke
In a sign of what was to come for a fantastic career on Castle Point, first year Evan Wilson broke a pair of school records in the 400-yard individual medley and the 200-yard breaststroke to help the men's swimming team earn a third-place finish at the New York University Fall Invitational.
The two school records represented the third and fourth records Wilson broke in just two meets with the Ducks after he set the records in both the 1,000-free and the 1,650-free earlier in the year. He swam a 4:13.92 in the 400-IM to break the record of 4:20.26 and followed it up by touching the wall in 2:14.83 in the breast to break the previous time of 2:20.19.
Oct. 23, 2010 – Carr Records 50th Career Shutout in 3-0 Win over Alfred
Stevens Hall of Fame goalkeeper Zach Carr became the first and remains the only Stevens men's soccer player to notch 50 career shutouts when he helped Stevens blank Alfred 3-0 in his senior campaign.
The shutouts did not stop there, however, as Carr and the Ducks posted five more clean sheets down the stretch to give him 55 in his career. Carr posted 16 shutouts in 20 matches in 2010 for an .800 solo shutout percentage which is tied for third all-time in NCAA Division III history. Carr's 55 career solo shutouts is the most DIII history and is tied for the most in NCAA history with Akron University's David Meyers who played from 2009-12.
Oct. 24, 2009 – Women's Volleyball Clinches Third Straight E8 Regular Season Title, Pushes Conference Win Streak to 61
The women's volleyball program entered the Empire 8 in 2007 and was dominant from the start, winning three consecutive regular season conference titles and not losing a conference match in the first three seasons.
When combined with their time in the Skyline Conference, the women's volleyball program won a remarkable 63 consecutive conference matches from 2004-09. The final two regular season victories in the streak came to close the 2009 season when the Ducks topped both Elmira and Nazareth in five-set thrillers to keep the streak alive and clinch their third straight E8 regular season title.
The streak was extended from 61 to 63 when the Ducks knocked off St. John Fisher and Ithaca in the Empire 8 semifinal and championship matches, respectively. Currently, Stevens has won 58 consecutive regular season conference matches and looks to pass the historic streak when they return to the court.

Additionally, Stevens finished in third place overall as a team with a final two-round score of 685 to finish behind only Farmingdale State and Manhattanville in the championship. After posting an opening-round 84 on Sunday, Merriam equaled the lowest round for the tournament as he finished with a six-over par 76 on Monday. He was only one shot behind Farmingdale sophomore Tim Pellegrino for third place.
Oct. 25, 2003 – Barnhart Scores for Ninth Consecutive Match in 5-0 Win over Manhattanville
Keeping with the Stevens Hall of Fame theme, 2011 HOF inductee Valarie Barnhart showed why she was deserving of the honor in her junior campaign when she netted a goal in nine consecutive matches to help Stevens secure the Skyline Conference Regular Season crown in 2003.
The streak culminated when Barnhart notched a pair of second half goals in a 5-0 win over Manhattanville. She scored twice in the span of 2:10 to keep the streak alive and keep the Ducks unbeaten in conference competition.
During the streak, Barnhart netted a total of 12 goals and added three assists in one of the best stretches of play in program history. The streak propelled the Ducks as they went 7-2 in during the nine matches after starting the year 3-4 and reached the second round NCAA Tournament.
The games/events noted above are not meant to be a complete listing of Stevens' events on these dates, but a sampling of great moments as determined by the Stevens Department of Athletic Communications.
