Allie Moss finished with 14 points, eight assists, six rebounds and five steals to lead the Stevens Institute of Technology women's basketball team to an emphatic 73-49 victory over Eastern University Saturday inside Canavan Arena.
Stevens outscored the Eagles 24-11 in the final quarter and held a double-digit lead for nearly the entirety of the second half as they now sit just a game behind Eastern for the fourth seed in the MAC Freedom.

Sophomore
Emily Nunez also was fantastic in the win with a career-high 15 points while going 5 for 9 from 3-point range. In her last four contests, Nunez is averaging 11.3 points per game and has score in double figures in three of those four matchups.
Eastern was led offensively by Kay Waluh and Viki Kneis who both had 13 points and combined to go 11 for 25 from the floor in the loss.
After falling behind 7-6 early in the game, Stevens was able to take a 7-6 lead with 3:45 left in the first thanks to a 3-point basket by Nunez and did not relinquish the lead from that point on.
Leading 12-10 late in the first, the Ducks bridged the first and second quarters with an 11-2 run featuring four points by
Meghan Douglas, three from Nunez and two apiece by
Annetta Panayides and
Danielle Cornetta.
With the score 25-13, the Eagles managed to go on a 10-0 run of their own to cut the deficit back to two with 3:33 left in the half.
Stevens responded, however, with a 7-0 run to re-extend the lead to nine and took a 33-28 lead into the break.
It was a 3-point barrage coming out of the locker room for the Ducks as Moss and
Vanessa Elliott combined to nail three consecutive shots from beyond the arc as a part of an 11-2 run to begin the second half.
Eastern did cut the deficit back under 10 at 44-36, but could not get any closer as
Lily Taeuber, Douglas and Moss combined for five straight quick points to put the lead back into double figures heading into the final period.
With 7:56 remaining in the contest, Eastern's Jaelyn Harris knocked down a bucket to make the score 54-42 and keep the Eagles within striking distance.
The Ducks took over from there, going on a 16-4 run highlighted by five points by Elliott, four apiece by
Jess Broad and Moss and capped by a 3-point bucket from Nunez. The 70-46 edge was the largest of the contest for Stevens.
Stevens cruised to the victory from that point as they continue to look to climb up the MAC Freedom standings. With the win tonight, the Ducks can clinch a conference tournament spot by winning their next two games and Eastern dropping a pair of contests against DeSales University and Misericordia University who currently sit atop the conference standings.
